Abia din anii 1890 bicicleta \u00eencepe s\u0103 fie utilizat\u0103 mai intensiv \u00een activit\u0103\u021bi militare diverse, precum cele de curierat, cercet\u0103\u0219ie, asisten\u021b\u0103 sanitar\u0103 \u0219i transportul armelor. De atunci bicicleta a fost prezent\u0103 \u00een numeroase teatre de opera\u021biuni militare, printre acestea put\u00e2nd fi enumerate R\u0103zboiul Balcanic, Primul R\u0103zboi mondial, Al II-lea R\u0103zboi mondial, Vietnam, Angola etc.<\/p>\n<p>Velocipedia militar\u0103 \u00een Rom\u00e2nia are actul de na\u0219tere \u00een jurul anului 1890\u2026 O \u0219tire din publica\u021bia Universul, mar\u021bi 28 ianuarie (9 februarie) 1892, informeaz\u0103 publicul asupra faptului c\u0103 <em>\u201dbatalionul de drum de fer din regimentul 2 de geniu\u201d <\/em>\u00a0urma a fi reorganizat <em>\u201dcomplect\u201d<\/em> \u00eencep\u00e2nd cu luna februarie a anului 1892,\u00a0 cu o scurt\u0103 precizare tip\u0103rit\u0103 pe un r\u00e2nd: <em>\u201dasemenea \u0219i velocipedia militar\u0103\u201d<\/em>. Dup\u0103 modul cum este formulat\u0103 \u0219tirea \u2013 reorganizarea (\u0219i) a velocipediei militare &#8211; s-ar putea deduce c\u0103 \u00eenc\u0103 \u00eenainte de anul 1892 existau \u00eencerc\u0103ri de utilizare a bicicletei \u00een armat\u0103. Aceast\u0103 reorganizare presupunea ca fiecare companie s\u0103 aibe patru bicicli\u0219ti, urm\u00e2nd a se experimenta utilizarea \u00een misiuni militare a 5 m\u0103rci de <em>\u201dvelocipe militare\u201d <\/em>(dou\u0103 fabricate \u00een Fran\u021ba, unul \u00een Anglia, unul \u00een Belgia \u0219i unul \u00een Germania). Dup\u0103 perioada de teste, ministrul de r\u0103zboi de atunci &#8211; Jacques Lahovary &#8211; urma a se <em>\u201dpronun\u021ba asupra celu\u01d0 ma\u01d0 bun sistem\u201d. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Un an mai t\u00e2rziu, \u00a0tot ziarul Universul, miercuri 25 august (6 septembrie) 1893, ne anun\u021ba faptul c\u0103 <em>\u201dla regimentul 1 de geni\u016d se fac experimente cu un nou biciclu militar, inventat de locotenentul Pinto din armata italian\u0103\u201d. <\/em>Noutatea acestui biciclu consta \u00een faptul c\u0103 putea fi demontat \u0219i astfel c\u0103rat \u00een spate, ca un rucsac, mult mai u\u0219or.<\/p>\n<p>Se pare c\u0103 toate aceste experimente s-au materializat \u00een sens pozitiv \u00een activitatea curent\u0103 a forma\u021biunilor militare \u00eenc\u0103 din anul 1894, \u00een pres\u0103 fiind publicat\u0103 o imagine cu un militar pe biciclu cu explica\u021bia: <em>\u201dDe la o vreme \u00eencoace s&#8217;a introdus \u0219i \u00een armat\u0103 velocipedul \u0219i anume \u00een serviciul de ordine \u0219i \u0219tir\u01d0 car\u01d0 se da\u016d de \u0219ef\u01d0 \u00een timp de manevre sa\u016d de r\u0115sboi\u016d. Velocipedul e foarte folositor \u00een cazur\u01d0 de acestea \u0219i militari\u01d0, car\u01d0 stiu bine s\u0103 umble cu el, pot s\u0103 aduc\u0103 servici\u01d0 \u00eensemnate. Ilustra\u021bia (\u2026) reprezint\u0103 o scen\u0103 din manevre. Un velocipedist e urm\u0103rit de solda\u021bi\u01d0 din armata inamic\u0103. De obicei\u016d velocipedi\u0219ti\u01d0 \u2013 militar\u01d0 scap\u0103 ma\u01d0 lesne din cauza iu\u021beli\u01d0 cu care s\u0103 fug\u0103 \u00een caz de urm\u0103rire\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Un alt articol, \u201dCiclismul militar\u201d (\u201dRevista sportiv\u0103\u201d, duminec\u0103 17 martie 1896, anul I, no.3), men\u021bioneaz\u0103 faptul c\u0103 \u00een anul 1896 bicicleta fusese testat\u0103 \u00een armata rom\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een dou\u0103 manevre militare, fiind recunoscut\u0103 ca fiind util\u0103 \u00een serviciul de curierat pe distan\u021be mari \u0219i ca leg\u0103tur\u0103 \u00eentre avangard\u0103, mas\u0103 \u0219i ariergard\u0103 \u00een cazul deplas\u0103rii convoaielor mari militare.<\/p>\n<p>Preocup\u0103rile privind utilizarea bicicletei \u00een opera\u021biunile militare continu\u0103\u2026 Interesant de men\u021bionat este faptul c\u0103 din punct de vedere organizatoric velocipedia militar\u0103 se dorea a fi abordat\u0103 nu numai de c\u0103tre institu\u021biile armate existente la acea vreme, ci \u0219i \u00een cadrul unor organiza\u021bii de specialitate particulare, nemilitarizate. Un argument \u00een acest sens \u00eel constituie prevederile curpinse \u00een Articolul nr. 1 din Statutul general al organiza\u021biei cicliste\u00a0 \u201dUnirea Velocipedic\u0103 a Rom\u00e2niei\u201d \u2013 U.V.R, \u00eenfiin\u021bat\u0103 \u00een anul 1897:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201dArt.1. \u2013 Scop &#8211; Scopul Uniri\u01d0 este dezvoltarea velocipediei sub toate formele ei (turism, sport, <strong>velocipedie militar\u0103<\/strong> etc. etc), ap\u0103rarea intereselor cicli\u0219tilor \u0219i stabilirea rela\u021biilor amicale \u00eentre d\u00e2n\u0219ii.
